Internal Fraud Specialist

YBS is changing and we’re passionate about our future, due to an internal promotion our Financial Crime Team have an opportunity for an Internal Fraud Specialist to join the team on a permanent basis. This is a great opportunity to develop within a growing business area!

About the role

An Internal Fraud Specialist’s day to day is extremely interesting and varied where you are on the front line protecting YBS from internal threats. Some tasks that you will be responsible for include:

  • Conduct full and fair investigations in relation to staff fraud to protect the Society from internal threats.

  • Support the recruitment on-boarding process and colleague screening

  • Liaise with third parties e.g. law enforcement on cases requiring criminal prosecution.

  • Make recommendations to support the management of risk including but not limited to system identifiers and process changes.

About you

This role plays a very important role at YBS therefore, this person must have experience investigating internal fraud. We would also like this person to have:

  • Experience of at least 2 years in an Internal Fraud or complex investigations role.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of investigation techniques including investigative interviews, evidence gathering and report writing.

  • Experience of investigating and analysing staff fraud concerns and suspicious activity.

  • Able to work independently and make own professional judgements

  • Confident in managing internal and external stakeholders at all levels.

  • Good working knowledge of Financial Crime and HR policies.

  • Evidence of professional learning - Accredited Counter Fraud Specialist (ACFS), ICA Advanced Certificate or equivalent

About you
