Main Purpose
To assist the Import Manager and provide strong leadership within the Import Department and to assist in delivering excellent Customer service within the department with focus also on file profit targets and at the same time build a culture of high standards of Quality and a department where employees are proud to work.
Job Role Responsibilities
Customer Liaison - to receive and process customer bookings in a timely fashion. To build relationships with customer and overseas partners. To gain trust and become customer preferred supplier
Systems / Software Knowledge - to utilise a range of in-house systems to process customer bookings to meet the requirements requested by the customer
Cutom Compliance - to ensure all shipments are in-line and comply with the regulations set out in country of origin and UK customs
Documentation Management - to ensure for each shipment the correct documentation is raised and received on arrival
UK Arrival Process - to ensure all arrivals are checked in and available for collection and delivery to meet customer requirements.
Operational Compliance - monitoring carrier performance to ensure all shipments move as agreed to the customer requirement
Commercial Awareness - to understand and use the current carrier rates to ensure RIF achieve a positive margin
Customer Invoicing - to ensure all invoices raised include all costs incurred and are charged as per the agreed rates
Department Operational Performance - monitor performance to ensure customer service requirements are achieved.
Department Leadership and Management - Assisting the Import Manager to lead the Import team to deliver excellent department performance and customer service.
Build Customer Relationships - ensure the retention and growth of key accounts and local customers through delivery of operational and customer excellence - Customer First.
