cer Financial are working closely with a real estate and property investment fund based in London, who are actively looking to hire a Fund Accountant to join their in-house finance team. 

The role is a wide-ranging position covering a number of functions in a small team and requires an individual who is flexible, hardworking and willing to undertake a varied level of tasks.

Responsibilities of the Fund Accountant will include: 

·    Preparation of half and full year financial accounts under UK GAAP, including liaising the funds’ auditors, and completing within specified timeframes.
·    Fund reporting including board pack, cash forecasts, Data Vendor information and investor fund documents.
·    Preparing monthly management account pack for the depositary including balance sheet review and reconciliation 
·    Liaising with lawyers, property managing agents and other professional advisers.
·    Preparation of relevant tax returns including monthly VAT returns.
·    Updating and maintaining the fund’s procedures manual.
·    Reviewing NAV per share calculation for funds with multi share classes.

The successful Fund Accountant will have: 

·    ACCA/ACA/CIMA qualified or an experienced finalist level accountant. 
·    Previous experience working with property funds would be beneficial
·    Previous experience with open ended funds is necessary 
·    Strong knowledge of authorised funds and tax including VAT would be preferred.
·    Proficient Excel skills.
