Job Description
The responsibilities of the successful candidate for this London based Fund Accountant role will include:
- LP/GP Venture Capital Fund Bookkeeping
- Monthly bank reconciliations
- Annual Fund Audit documentation preparation
- Preparation of drawdown and distribution notices, and other LP reporting requirements
- Interpretation of LPAs and other Fund related legal documentation
- Update and maintain Fund and investor data on Investran Accounting systems
- Complete investor share allocations for EIS funds
- Run DBS and AML checks on directors of proposed investee companies
- Obtain certified bank statements and conduct confirmatory phone calls to investee companies
- Review and assess ancillary due diligence documentation
- First review of deal completion legal documents
- Aid Investment Consultants with investment due diligence process
- Onboard new Investment Consultant clients#
- Obtain investment updates for valuation and reporting purposes
- Attend Investment Committee meetings for investment considerations
- Develop and improve administrative processes to reduce risk and increase efficiency
- Identify issues with existing processes and propose practical solutions
- Retrieve data from various sources, such as fund administrators, custodians, and portfolio companies, ensuring data accuracy and completeness.
- Validate data integrity and identify and resolve any discrepancies or inconsistencies.
- Maintain data quality standards and implement processes for ongoing data verification.
- Utilise analytical tools and techniques to interpret and analyse complex datasets.
- Identify trends, patterns, and correlations within the data to generate meaningful insights.
- Prepare reports and presentations summarising findings, providing actionable recommendations to support decision-making processes.
- Assist in the maintenance and development of the data management infrastructure.
- Ensure data is appropriately organised, categorised, and stored in a structured manner.
- Collaborate with internal developers to enhance data systems and implement data governance practices.
- Continuously evaluate existing data analysis processes and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Propose and implement enhancements to increase efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.
- Stay up to date with industry best practices and emerging technologies to optimise data analysis methodologies
The Successful Applicant
The successful candidate for this role will have the following experience:
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CA, CPA)
- Proficiency in data analysis tools such as Excel, SQL, Python, or R
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- 2 - 4 years of work experience with at least 18 months of data analysis specific work. Work related to financial services would be favourable.
