We have an exciting opportunity to join a fantastic award-winning charity that makes a huge positive difference to those affected by a diagnosis of cancer. The Olive Tree Cancer Support Group is dedicated to the relief of the physical and/or emotional distress of persons with cancer and their partners, families, friends and carers through the provision of information and emotional support therapies and groups at our two Centres in Crawley and Horsham, West Sussex.
We must significantly boost income generation in order to meet increased costs in supporting ever more people in desperate need of our care and services.
The Candidate
We are looking for a talented fundraiser and communicator to join our team who can demonstrate:
· A track record showing delivery of £100k+ annually through fundraising, in multiple income streams.
· Proven experience of building relationships across a variety of audiences to help grow and meet financial fundraising targets.
· Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) coupled with an ability to motivate and inspire others.
· Excellent organisational skills with a good understanding of KPIs, targets, budgeting, and business plans.
· Strategic thinking ability in combination with good problem-solving skills.
The Role
• To lead the strategic and operational management specific to Olive Tree fundraising and communication functions.
• To develop and implement a new fundraising strategy for the Charity to support our ambitious plans and add income across the full set of revenue streams/channels.
• To develop and implement a fresh communications strategy that builds the charity’s profile, increases awareness, and boosts levels of engagement amongst key audiences.
• To manage and develop the Communications Assistant, ensuring appropriate support and sufficient challenge to maximise their effectiveness.
• To act as an ambassador and represent Olive Tree externally, promoting the work of the organisation and developing productive relationships and partnerships.
Salary (dependent on experience)
Location: Crawley/Horsham
This is a full-time role at 37.5 hours (5 days) per week. You will be based at the Horsham centre, occasionally working from the Crawley centre, with travel as required. Dependent on experience, salary is between £40k-£45k per annum; annual leave is 25 days plus bank holidays. As some of our Fundraising Events are at weekends you will be expected to be available to lead and support our volunteers at these events.
