Job description

Dawat-e-Islami UK, a renowned global Islamic charitable organisation with centres throughout the UK, is looking to recruit a Fundraising Manager to join the organisation. Dawat-e-Islami is growing rapidly and needs highly skilled and motivated individuals to further its aim of self-rectification. The Role:
Dawat e Islami UK is in search of a seasoned and energetic Fundraising Manager to spearhead and propel our fundraising endeavors. The selected candidate will have a pivotal role in formulating and executing successful fundraising strategies, nurturing connections with donors, and ensuring the financial viability of our essential humanitarian projects.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop and Implement Fundraising Strategies:
• Develop inclusive fundraising strategies with the aim of reaching financial objectives and meeting organisational milestones.
• Recognize and seize a variety of fundraising prospects, encompassing individual contributions, high-net-worth donors, corporate alliances, grants, events, and campaigns.
2. Donor Cultivation and Relationship Management:
• Foster and sustain connections with current and prospective donors, advocates, and partners
• Engage in clear and effective communication with donors, providing them regular updates on the impact of their contributions and the progress of Dawat e Islami UK relief projects through detailed and high-quality reporting.
3. Fundraising, Event Planning and Management:
• Plan and orchestrate fundraising events, campaigns, deployments, and activities to actively involve the community and generate financial support.
• Participate as a representative of the charity in pertinent events and activities, which may include engaging in public speaking engagements.
• Work closely with the marketing and communications teams to efficiently promote events and initiatives.
• Build and nurture relationships with institutions, organisations, and community groups within the Muslim community, including mosques (Masjids).
• Coordinate and take part in fundraising collections at mosques (Masjids) during Ramadan and throughout the year.
• Perform administrative tasks related to fundraising activities
4. Financial Reporting and Analysis:
• Generate regular financial reports and updates for both internal and external stakeholders.
• Evaluate fundraising data to gauge the effectiveness of strategies and provide informed recommendations for enhancement.
5. Compliance and Ethics:
• Ensure that all fundraising activities adhere to applicable legal and ethical standards.
• Stay informed about industry best practices, regulations, and trends in fundraising.
The above list is not exhaustive, and you may be required to take on additional duties within the remit of the role.
Essential Requirements:
• Proven Experience in fundraising, with a focus on individual giving and event management.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.

• Excellent writing and presentation skills, especially in the context of donor communications.
• Familiarity with the Islamic charity sector and a commitment to Dawat e Islami works.
• Understand the diversity, issues and social and cultural nuances within local Muslim communities and how this impacts community engagement, volunteering, fundraising and the organisation.
• Knowledge of fundraising software and tools.
• Experience of fundraising during busy periods such as Ramadhan and Eid Al Adha.
• Ability to travel nationally and internationally when required.
• Some fundraising activities take place on weekends and evenings, so flexibility is required.
• Hold a valid UK driving license and have full access to your own car.
Desirable requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (Business, Nonprofit Management, Fundraising, etc.)
• Experience of public speaking
• Multilingual, Knowledge of Urdu, Bangla and/or Arabic.
