The International CML Foundation is a UK based, non-profit organisation dedicated to supporting and advocating for patients with Chronic Myeloid Leukemia (CML) worldwide. Working with a strong network of global health partners the iCMLf’s activities;
- improve access to world-class CML education and best practice so that people with CML receive the best possible management,
- increase the availability of CML testing for accurate diagnosis and monitoring to ensure more people with CML will have access to treatment and
- establish global research networks and projects to change the treatment paradigm of CML.

About the Role:
The iCMLf Fundraising Manager is the first dedicated fundraising position for the Foundation and will have a significant impact on the organisation's growth and impact. You will be the fundraising contact point for the organisation, liaising across all teams to understand the funding opportunities and needs. Working with the Chief Executive you will build on our existing support networks, develop, and implement our fundraising strategy by showcasing our case for support, and securing and maintaining key relationships.
Roles Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy: You will be responsible for creating and executing a strategic fundraising plan to diversify and increase the Foundation's revenue streams. This includes identifying and cultivating potential donors, implementing fundraising campaigns, and seeking out new funding opportunities.
- Donor cultivation and stewardship: Build strong relationships with individual donors, and funding partners. Develop personalised cultivation strategies and ensure proper stewardship to foster long-term partnerships and secure ongoing support.
- Grant writing and proposal development: Research and identify potential grant opportunities from trusts, foundations, and other funding sources. Prepare high-quality grant proposals, applications, and reports to secure funding for various Foundation initiatives.
- Fundraising events and campaigns: Plan, coordinate, and execute fundraising events and campaigns to engage the community and raise funds for the Foundation.
- Donor database management: Develop and maintain our fundraising database to track and monitor applications, outcomes, and reporting requirements.
- Reporting: Analyse the impact of fundraising and report on the progress to the Chief Executive including recommendations and areas of improvement.
- Forward thinking. Keep pace with new fundraising opportunities, innovations, and technologies to ensure that all opportunities are maximised.
The successful applicant will have:
- More than five years’ experience in a UK not-for-profit fundraising, donor management, or related role. Preferably within a health-related organisation.
- A demonstrated track record of income generation that includes corporate/foundation giving, donor cultivation and stewardship.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience in grant writing and crafting compelling donor communications.
- The ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse internal and external stakeholders.
- Self-motivation and be results-oriented, with the ability to work independently and remotely.
- Proven and applicable skills in strategic thinking, problem solving and, strong organisational and project management skills, with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in using CRM systems and other fundraising software.
- Flexibility to work outside of normal office hours, as necessary, to accommodate international stakeholders.
- Familiarity with the healthcare sector, international development and/or experience working with patient advocacy organisations is desirable.
