The General Services Office, at the U.S. Embassy in London, is looking for experienced, hardworking Furniture Movers/Warehouse Workers to join their warehouse team based in Hendon, Northwest London. The Furniture Mover is responsible for the safe handling, moving, storage, and inventory of furniture, appliances and other large items. Job holder is responsible for:
- Moving and installing heavy furniture from the warehouse to residences occupied by US personnel, often up and down narrow stairwells with multiple flights of stairs. Residences are located throughout Greater London.
- Loading and unloading of furniture, appliances, etc. from trucks/vans to the warehouse.
- Assisting in organizing, preparing and delivering items from the warehouse to office buildings, residential properties, and other locations as required.
- Operating forklifts, trolleys and other electrical or mechanical equipment to safely move and transport heavy items.
- Packing, unpacking and delivering of welcome kits containing housing supplies to be used by newly arrived US personnel as directed by the supervisor.
- Assisting with annual inventory, ensuring that all items are stored properly to prevent theft, safety or fire hazards.
Note: This position is based in Hendon at the Embassy Warehouse.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

EDUCATION: Completion of Secondary School is required.
EXPERIENCE: A minimum of two (2) years of experience in manual labor or warehouse work is required.
LANGUAGE: Must have a good working knowledge of written and spoken English (this may be tested).
SKILLS & ABILITIES: Must have a valid full manual UK/EU/EEA driver's license for vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes.
