Monday to Thursday 8am - 4pm
Friday 8am - 330pm
We are currently looking for 2 Field based Gas Engineer to join our repairs and maintenance team based across Corby and the surrounding areas in Northamptonshire
Overall Job Purpose - Gas Engineer - Repairs:
The purpose of the post is to provide operational housing maintenance services to improve the service quality. You will undertake various tasks including inspections, repairs, servicing, improvements, and replacements in accordance with job orders. Emphasis is placed on enhancing customer service and the ad hoc repair service overall.
Main Duties and Responsibilities - Gas Engineer - Repairs:
- Representation and Values: Represent the organization during working hours and uphold its standards and values.
- Task Execution: Undertake tasks within the allocated area of work in accordance with current Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).
- Work Schedules: Meet performance work schedules, including keeping appointments or target times of work orders.
- Trade-based Work: Undertake trade-based work according to skill requirements, qualifications, and training.
- Communication: Utilize mobile technology for direct communication with supervisors or office staff.
- Workload Management: Plan own workload, manage stock/van, make appointments, and ensure completion of allocated work.
- Site Reporting: Report directly to temporary site setup when required.
- Types of Work: Work on responsive/emergency service, cyclical routine service, and contract/planned maintenance/voids service either individually or as part of a team.
- Appointment Management: Operate within appointment schedules made by call center and inform supervisors of any issues.
- Method Statement Compliance: Operate within method statements for all work, including customer care and quality, especially in occupied properties.
- Documentation: Complete all required paperwork and electronic reports/certificates and inform supervisors of work variations or follow-on work required.
- Customer Focus: Operate within a customer-focused framework, prioritizing customer satisfaction.
- Safety Compliance: Comply with safe working practices, adhere to safety policies, and ensure the safety of oneself and others.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Maintain vehicle cleanliness, fuel levels, and associated paperwork.
- Training: Attend team briefings or training sessions as required.
- Multi-skill Agreement: Make full use of the council's multi-skill agreement.
- Allied Duties: Carry out reasonable allied duties as required.
- PDA Operation: Operate PDA effectively according to organisational objectives.
- Gas Safety: Ensure gas safety compliance for all owned domestic properties, following Gas Installation and Use Regulations and industry procedures.
