General Counsel - Lloyds & Uk Litigation

Are you an experienced lawyer in Marine and Specialty insurance coverage litigation? Our client, a leading Global Insurance conglomerate, is seeking a General Counsel to join their collaborative Litigation, UK & Lloyd’s team.

As a key team member, you'll provide extensive insurance law advice, handling both contentious and non-contentious matters across various jurisdictions. Reporting to the Head of Litigation – UK & Lloyd’s, your responsibilities will include:

Essential Responsibilities:

• Develop comprehensive coverage analyses and litigation strategies for property, casualty, and specialty lines.
• Provide legal advice to the Claims organization on regulatory and vendor contracting matters.
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders and oversee litigation management processes.
• Act as a subject matter expert globally, offering legal advice and training.
• Collaborate with Claims teams globally, enhancing the 'Underwriting and Claims feedback loop.'

Skills we're looking for..

• International coverage experience, specializing in insurance coverage litigation.
• Legal credentials: Degree with high academic achievement and solicitor of the Supreme Court of England and Wales or UK barrister.
• Strongly Preferred: Significant experience in Marine and Specialty coverage litigation.
• Preferred but not essential: Experience in Reinsurance coverage litigation and claims.
• Leadership skills, strategic thinking, and excellent research and analysis abilities.
• Cross-border teamwork ability and a passion for results.
