SalaryOur longest standing client is looking to add a General Manager/Head of Ops of the Car division of their specialist vehicle manufacturing business. This person will manage key operating functions of the business which will include manufacturing and project related activities.
This business has gone through a transitional phase and now under new ownership is set to thrive, making this role ideal for someone who has transformational experience and the drive to help the business meet and exceed its exciting and ambitious plans ahead.
The ideal person will be someone who is seen by the organisation and has excellent relationship building skills who can communicate with both the shopfloor staff and also the Group Directors.
Responsibilities will include:
- Sound management of Sales and Operating Planning processes
- Management of capacity to ensure labour is balanced with build requirements
- Management of procurement and materials staff to ensure the supply chain is effective and does not cause delay in manufacturing
- Manage weekly milestone reviews for coming and incoming sales orders to ensure supply chain demands can be met and orders can be executed as agreed
- Review costings on a weekly basis with the FC to ensure that materials are procured and in line with estimated production costs
Automotive experience is not essential for this position, but the manufacturing of multi stage builds is. There may also be need the need to travel between sites from time to time.
