Health and Safety Officer- Highways
Company: A well-established public sector organisation
Location: Leeds (LS14), fully office-based.
Pay Rate: £18.06 per hour (PAYE).
Role Overview: As a Health and Safety Officer (Highways), you’ll play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our team members and the public.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitoring and managing risk assessments.
- Accident monitoring, which can include investigations.
- Site visits and audits.
- Delivery of Heath and Safety related training.
- Attending relevant meetings and providing updates to managers.
- Provide advice regarding industry good practice.
- Present Health and Safety related data to managers and at relevant meetings.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Detailed knowledge of Health and Safety practices within a highways setting.
- Considerable experience working in Health and Safety roles.
- Ability to work effectively with others and contribute to a positive safety culture.
- Familiarity with Health and Safety legislation, including CDM (Construction Design and Management) regulations.
- Experience with RIDDOR (Reporting of Injuries, Diseases, and Dangerous Occurrences Regulations) reporting.
This is a full time role 37 hours per week, Monday-Friday, with a pay rate of £18.06 per hour PAYE.
You will support the three geographically based Depots in Leeds.
