We are opening a brand new DoubleTree by Hilton hotel in South Yorkshire! We are delighted to be recruiting for the team who will support the pre-opening for the hotel and go on to operate the hotel once the doors are officially open to guests! The hotel will comprise of 155 warm and welcoming bedrooms, a restaurant, bar and versatile conference and events space. Join us in creating lasting memories in a space where every guest is welcomed with open arms.
What we're looking for:
- At least 6+ years’ experience as a General Manager of a hotel.
- Hilton or branded hotel experience.
- Worked within a multi-layered stakeholder environment (brand, owners, management).
- Vast banqueting and F&B experience.
- Excellent commercial awareness and ability to lead, coach and develop the commercial team.
- Sound health and safety knowledge and awareness.
- Strong financial acumen.
- Availability is flexible, willing to work weekends when it is required. Presence on-site for key events etc.
- Natural Company ambassador. Someone that is present within the local community. An excellent networker.
- Excellent project manager.
Day in the life of:

We are seeking a leader who will be highly passionate about the success of the hotel and will focus on the details to ensure the hotel and team are operating efficiently and to a high standard.
In addition, this role will naturally take a review and ensure all opportunities to maximise Profitability is being explored.
This is a traditional General Manager’s position, reporting in the Group Operations Director. You will attend monthly business reviews to present the hotel’s performance to key stakeholders. You will have an executive management team reporting into you and will be a natural leader with the ability to develop your team professionally.
Example key responsibilities:
- Driver of regular key meetings within the hotel. Such as business reviews, commercial, HOD and Town Hall meetings.
- Line Management and support for hotel’s executive team. Ongoing mentorship, development, and support for the leadership team.
- Presence on the floor at key times to oversee and observe service.
- Present to Directors at monthly business review meetings. Ensure your team are well equipped to support in this where needed.
- Commercial leader with the ability to generate new ideas and routes to market. Exploration and encouragement of ideas and suggestions by the team. A leader within this function.
- Working closely with your team to ensure accurate financial reporting and management, such as forecasting and monitoring cash flow etc.
- Constant mentorship and coaching with the hotel team members. Working to develop their skillset and independence. Proving feedback and retraining where needed.
- Gaining support from the cluster and group teams when expertise is needed.
- Presence within the community and connecting the hotel to its local roots.
