General Warehouse Operative

An exciting new opportunity has now arisen for a General Warehouse Operative to join a diverse, progressive and market leading Distribution Company based in Bangor, County Down. The successful candidate will be working in a fast-moving environment within a small team. You will need to be able to adapt, work quickly, and have great attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities

• Assisting with loading and unloading vehicles coming into and leaving the warehouse in a timely and accurate manner
• Picking and packing orders for dispatch
• Unpacking, inspecting and quality-checking products
• Ensuring that stock is replenished in the warehouse so customer demand can be met as quickly as possible
• Ensuring that wrong picks and damaged goods are kept to an absolute minimum
• Ensuring that your workstation, and the warehouse in general, is kept clean, tidy and free from hazards
• Undertaking stock taking as and when required
• Ensuring all health and safety regulations within the company are adhered to
• Ensuring that all lifting and manoeuvring of the product(s) is carried out in accordance with manual handling procedures
• Must be able to pass online tests for health and safety, fire risks, manual handling, and any other relevant testing
• Working effectively individually and as part of a team to ensure business needs are met
• Carrying out General Warehouse duties

• Must have good Maths and English skills and be able to demonstrate this

• Good verbal communication skills
• Be able to move between jobs easily whilst maintaining focus
• Have a hunger to hit deadlines
• Excellent attention to detail, with a methodical approach, and the ability to work quickly, accurately and safely

Desirable:

• Forklift license
• Computer literate

Job Types: Full-time, Temporary contract
Contract length: 3 months

Pay: £5.28-£10.42 per hour

Expected hours: 37.5 per week
