THE ROLE
The Woodland Trust is continually improving how we use GIS and how we integrate our processes to make the best use of the technology. This role plays a key part in helping the organisation grow this GIS ecosystem that is tightly integrated with our various ways of working.
This role sits within the central GIS Team who are responsible for managing how GIS is used at the Trust. The GIS Team also works with a cross-organisational GIS Project Team that is charged with delivering organisational change. In addition, this role will work directly with end users from various other teams across the Trust.
The GIS Specialist will work within the GIS Team to provide expert support with ESRI technologies, specifically ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS online (AGOL). It will involve data management, administration, application development, and process development.
As well as ESRI technologies it will require the use of FME integration software and potentially the use of other desktop GIS software.
THE CANDIDATE
You will be experienced in using ESRI AGOL and ArcGIS Pro. Knowledge of integration tools (such as FME) is essential. As is knowledge of other desktop GIS software (such as QGIS, MapInfo). You will adhere to development best practice principles. Strong GIS knowledge and experience within an organisational context is essential. Experience working with spatial databases is essential. You will be comfortable with tools such as O365/Teams/Zoom and have experience in providing user support and training. You will be knowledgeable in and able to apply UX best practices to application development.

This is a Hybrid working role, where you’ll work part of your time at home and part of the time from our Head Office based in Grantham, Lincolnshire. Our Hybrid Working Policy is flexible, and the frequency of time spent in your contracted office will vary across teams and job roles.
