Job description

The Global Brand Marketing Lead role is a new role at the heart of Nelsons Global Brand Marketing team, with responsibility for accelerating the Nelsons’ business growth through smart Brand Marketing strategies and highly effective in-market activation.

The Global Brand Marketing Lead will join the business at an incredibly exciting time:

Nelsons portfolio of brands (RESCUE, Bach Original Flower Remedies, Spatone, Nelsons Teetha and Nelsons Arnicare) have a strong consumer reputation and are used to address some of the fastest-growing natural healthcare needs such as stress, sleep and emotional wellbeing

Business ambition to double the global sales:

Nelsons has already begun a transformation to step-change business growth, by focusing resources on winning in the market and investing in enhanced capabilities in areas such as marketing, creative and innovation.

Global go-to-market capability:

Nelsons operates across all continents, with a mix of owned in-market operations and strong distributor partners. This capability enables successful growth initiatives to scale rapidly across multiple markets. Key existing markets include USA, France, Germany, and UK.

Within the marketing function we are mid-transformation as we evolve to a “One Marketing Team” model of global growth strategies and creative leadership, combined with local in-market activation excellence.

Key responsibilities;

  • Lead Global Brand Strategy (Brand Positioning and Growth Strategies) for part of the Nelsons portfolio of natural healthcare brands. Specific responsibility for developing the strategy and focused growth initiatives for the BACH, Spatone and Nelsons brands.
  • Ensure each brand has a distinctive and consumer-motivating brand positioning. The positioning will provide clarity and direction to our wider team and retail customers/distributors and be a powerful springboard for successful innovation and consumer activation.
  • Provide clear and inspiring briefs to creative teams – both external agencies and internal
  • Recommend resource allocation during budgeting process – to maximise commercial growth and strengthen the equity of our brands – including how we leverage a smaller stronger roster of agencies and freelancers across our “One Marketing Team”.
  • Role model the evolution of Nelsons into becoming a more consumer-centric business
  • Drive a data-centric approach to campaign success measurement, regularly feeding back associated market/audience insights
  • Work closely with Nelsons Product and Portfolio team (which includes innovation) and the creative team, ensuring output is aligned with marketing brief/vision and strategy, and that sufficient time is given to ensure campaigns are adequately supported/resourced
  • Work closely with other Marketing leaders to ensure activations within their verticals are aligned with brand activity
  • Own ad-hoc marketing projects

Requirements

  • Experience of leading both multi-country brand strategy development and multi-country marketing activation
  • Experience of leading a brand’s revitalisation through consumer positioning, creative idea, identification of focused growth drivers and smart use of distinctive brand assets
  • A proven track record of step-changing business growth – with an entrepreneurial and creative scale-up mindset that enables mid-sized budgets to make a disproportionately big impact.
  • Exceptional clarity of communication. Able to inspire the wider business with a clear vision for the brands – and distil brand strategy down to simple growth drivers and focused activation.
  • A proven track record of building high performance teams – both direct teams and cross-functional teams.
  • Experience within a branded consumer goods business (health and wellness experience an added advantage). Ideally, experience of working in regulated categories.
  • Strong understanding of how to leverage digital marketing to build brand equity and commercial growth
