We are hiring a Global Director of Product Marketing for Hitachi Energy. This is an integral leadership role to enable us to achieve our mission to tell our Grid Automation story, sustainably.  You will build a visionary Product Marketing function and global marketing plan that supports our strategic growth objectives. As an effective collaborator, you’ll be confident at liaising at all levels to influence senior leaders and inspire your stakeholder community. The right candidate will be a technology enthusiast, articulate, and commercially astute, with a firm grasp of ways to develop a strategic Product Marketing function and organization.

You’ll lead a team of product marketers, representing Hitachi Energy’s Grid Automation’s 3 distinct portfolios encompassing:  Enterprise Software, Grid Edge Solutions, and Automation & Communications. Drawing on marketing best practices, you will collaborate with product leaders, corporate teams, and the Grid Automation MarCom organization, as you shape a sustainable Business Unit narrative, content, and storytelling strategy.  As the team leader, you will determine how these stories are told, how product launches are managed, and how to effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders.

You and your team, comprised of trusted technical subject matter experts from within the energy sector, will translate complex concepts and solutions from product management and sales to the market and to our employees. To this end, you and your team will produce and maintain the materials required to build a common understanding and maintain a culture of tight collaboration with stakeholders.  Building and maintaining knowledge and materials for the portfolio are a primary objective, including, but not limited to: portfolio/solution/product messaging and value proposition development; customer segmentation and personas; core customer references, product profiles, presentations, white papers, and product updates.

You will be based either from the UK or Europe with access to our Stone, Birmingham, and Woking offices.  In this role, there will be a degree of traveling ivolved as well as required flexibility to operate across global time zones.

Role:

  • Create a sustainable framework for developing Grid Automation’s Product Marketing content.
  • Align content strategy to Demand Gen strategy so that content is delivered on time.
  • Build internal documentation required to educate stakeholders internally on product / portfolio vision.
  • Set Product Marketing budgets and track spend, always with an eye for ROI.
  • Drive pipeline through consistent execution of MarCom plan. 

Responsibilities:

  • Build storytelling architecture and content strategy for portfolio.
  • Deliver content on time and on budget.
  • Educate stakeholders on portfolio positioning and messaging.
  • Build functional processes for Product Marketing team
  • Stakeholder management, call cadences, launch communication process, content management protocols.
  • Research and compile company statistics and client success stories and to this end positively represent the company and its offerings.
  • Evaluate market research and adjust marketing strategy to meet changing market and competitive conditions.
  • Ensure effective control of marketing results and take corrective action accordingly.
  • Manage personnel activities of staff (i.e. hire, train, reward, motivate, including handling disciplinaries, performance reviews, and pay discussions).
  • Evaluate and assess new projects based upon size, complexity, and time frame.
  • Select and assign appropriate project leader and team member(s).
  • Serve as escalation point for issues beyond team authority; resolve conflicts involving scheduling, resources, or technical issues.

Background

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Significant Product Marketing and development experience.
  • Deep understanding of market trends and product lifecycles.
  • Firm grasp of ways to develop strategic Product Marketing campaigns.
  • 10-15 years of B2B marketing experience.
