Gleeson Recruitment Group are working exclusively in partnership with a leading manufacturing organisation in the UK, who are looking to appoint a Government Financial Controls Manager into their high-performing and ever-growing Finance function. This is a remote position, with occasional travel to the West Midlands.
The Government Financial Controls Manager will be a key member of the Finance team, ensuring compliance with United States Government financial and contracting regulations. This critical role involves close collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, including senior US Government leadership, to drive financial compliance and optimise cost recovery strategies.
Key responsibilities of the position:
- Lead and manage the Government Finance & Controls Team to ensure timely and accurate compliance with USG financial and contracting regulations.
- Oversee the calculation of allowable overhead and labour rates, ensuring adherence to quarterly and yearly reporting requirements.
- Act as the primary point of contact with senior USG leadership on matters related to overhead rates, compliance, financial reporting, and audits.
- Collaborate with business unit Controllers to develop forward pricing rate financials in compliance with CAS/FAR standards.
- Participate in the creation and negotiation of US Government compliant bids, demonstrating expertise in regulatory requirements.
- Work closely with business units to maintain a robust US Government controls environment and provide guidance on compliance matters.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of US Government accounting disclosure statements as needed.
- Stay abreast of changes in regulations and provide guidance to the business on Federal Acquisition Regulations compliance.
Qualifications and requirements for the position:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Advanced degree or professional qualification is preferred.
- Proven progressive experience in Accounting and Finance roles, with a focus on government finance and controls, preferably within a large global corporation.
- Strong knowledge of US Government financial regulations
- Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across various levels of the organisation and with external stakeholders.
- Strong controls mindset with a focus on achieving results.
