Job description

We currently have two opportunities for a graduate interested in a career within construction and insurance.

First Opportunity: Graduate Internal Surveyor

A challenging and varied opportunity for a graduate at the beginning of their journey in surveying within the claim handling team to join this ever growing professional firm and add real value. You may have recently completed a relevant degree and now looking for a chance to develop or/and have previously worked in this area and looking for the next step.

As an Internal Surveyor you will be able to look at schedules of repair and costs to ascertain whether they are reasonable or not.

Duties will involve the following:

  • Ensuring you have the full facts on each case that needs dealing with
  • Examining documentation to ensure you are in full possession of the facts.
  • Review schedules of repairs and costs
  • Producing detailed reports and recommendations
  • Discussing results with relevant parties
  • Liaising with our Surveyor or Civil Engineer who has attended site or analysed the documentation and images provided.
  • Ensuring you keep the internal system up to date and communicate any issues internally

Essential Requirements

  • Relevant degree and/or some relevant experience in this sector
  • Excellent communicator via email and over the phone
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Computer literate and confident with MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Outlook.
  • Effective verbal and written communicator with good grammar and spelling.
  • Able to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Organised and honest.

HOURS OF WORK: 8:45 - 5.00pm Monday to Friday with 1 Lunch

STARTING SALARY: £25,000-£30,000 DOE

HOLIDAY: 25 days plus bank holidays, an extra 16 hours of time off in lieu taken at no more than two-hour slots which equates to the total of 27 days plus bank holidays. An additional day is also given for your Birthday if it falls on a weekday.

SECOND OPPORTUNITY: Building Solutions Contract Coordinator

This role requires a driven, numerate, focused graduate to join their Building Solutions division. As with all their graduate roles they offer training and support for the chosen candidate to excel and progress. This role would be ideal for someone who has studied a relevant degree and may have either worked on the tools or in a DIY/Construction setting while studying.

For graduates with the potential to develop into management they also have the rising star academy, this is an option once you are recognised as having the potential to lead a team.

This role is incredibly varied.

Duties involve the following:

  • Communicating facts on all building solutions relating to claims.
  • Organising site operatives regarding the job/project/repair they need to work on
  • Coordinate the day-to-day works fulfilled by company employees and/or directly engaged trades with focus on the planning and facilitating the components to successfully conduct the works and increasing the Company’s profitability.
  • Liaise with direct trades/contractors to book works, arrange materials, and answer job queries. Escalating queries and issues to appropriate management as required.
  • Purchase materials and hire plant for approved works, conducting a price comparison appropriate to the value of the item(s) being purchased.
  • Ensure the customer is updated throughout the repair process.
  • Provide a cost saving approach when ordering materials, authorising contractors, and allocating work throughout the repair process.
  • Manage and maintain file notes, image/document uploads to ensure files can be easily reviewed and understood.
  • Manage the customer, client, and claimant’s experience throughout the repair process.
  • Managing the jobs from start to completion and dealing with any issues
  • Ensuring you keep the internal system up to date and communicate any issues internally
  • Conduct end of day checks with trades and where necessary, communicate/escalate issues to the appropriate site manager or member of management.
  • Manage your inbox ensuring the content is actioned appropriately.

  • Full driving licence and transport
  • Local to the area/ability to relocate
