Graduate Or Design Engineer

Groundforce Shorco (GFS) are currently looking to add to our technical shoring team through the appointment of a Graduate Civil Engineer or Design Civil Engineer. This is a chance to join a collaborative team, completing temporary works designs using our vast range of proprietary equipment.You will report directly to the Design Manager, who will oversee your workload, training and development. You will work directly with those in your team as well as your peers in the wider technical department.Key ResponsibilitiesProducing preliminary and construction stage designs in a timely manner in accordance with approved codes of practice and legislation (CIRIA publications, BS5950, Eurocode 3 and 7). These will predominately be shoring (ground support) temporary works designs.Producing design drawings using Autodesk AutoCAD & Revit.Assist with the workload of the other technical teams as required.Liaise and Collaborate with our sales and operations teams to ensure successful project delivery within time and budget constraints.Helping support in the production of new tools and software for the technical team to drive efficiencies and save time.Helping to maintain and update Groundforce’s online suite of design tools.What We're Looking ForYou will have graduated with a degree in Civil Engineering (Bsc, BEng or MEng, 2:1 or above) or similar discipline;You will have studied or have experience of:Engineering mathematics (Required);Geotechnics, including Rankine’s Theory (Required);Structural steel design including simple beam mechanics (Required)Eurocode 3 and 7 (Desirable);Retaining wall design (Desirable);Structural and stress mechanics (Desirable).You will be:Excellent at time management and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously;Focussed on excellence and take pride in your work;Able to communicate with a wide range of people, from Engineering customers to Sales to Site teams by telephone as well as emails;A strong team player;Committed to continuous improvement and personal development;Keen to solve problems and identify better ways of working;You will be a competent user of:Microsoft Office (Required);Autodesk AutoCAD or Revit (Desirable);Geosolve WALLAP (Desirable);CADS Piled Wall Suite (Desirable);CADS A3D Max (Desirable);Tekla Tedds and/or Structural Designer (Desirable).What We Can Offer You Competitive salary25 days annual leave plus bank holidaysBonus schemePensionFlexible/Hybrid workingSupport in gaining relevant professional qualifications with the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) Accredited Company Approved Training Scheme (CATS)Cycle to work schemeFormal trainingOpportunity to undertake day release education to gain recognised engineering qualificationsExcellent progression opportunities within a range of teams across the businessA Little Bit About UsGroundforce is the market-leading rental provider of excavation support systems and specialist products for the water, civil engineering, and construction industries.
