Job Title: Graduate Quantity Surveyor England
Reporting to: Regional Commercial Manager
Role purpose
The JOB TITLE will be Graduate Quantity Surveyor
· The jobholder will work within Omexom’s regional commercial team England and will be assigned to projects within local business units. Project specific work will involve working directly with project site teams, Site Managers and Project Managers and Quantity Surveyors to help in the delivery of projects.
· The jobholder will also be required to interface with other aspects of the Omexom business including Planning, Finance and Engineering.
· The role will be a permanent position subject to annual review with the expectation of the jobholder becoming part of the regional commercial team after two years working in the Graduate Quantity Surveyor Role
Responsibilities & Duties
The successful applicant will ensure the following duties are carried out:
· Support the project team in the procurement of sub-contractors and the preparation of sub-contract documents.
· Support the project team in the preparation of initial project budgets and thereafter maintaining them on a regular basis through the life cycle of the project.
· Preparation of variations for both the civil and electrical works for project team review prior to submission to client.
· Preparation of valuation claims based on the milestone payments set up by client.
· Ensure that a detailed measure of works completed is maintained on an ongoing basis.
· Timely submission of cost/value reconciliations (EV).
· Manage sub-contractor valuations and associated payments.
· Maintain labour resource scheduling in conjunction with the Project Managers.
· Maintain accurate cost reporting systems and associated projections.
· Completion of internal monthly cost forecasting and project reviews.
· Input into the preparation of all final account documentation prior to project team review.
· Efficient use of the company IT systems for document control between Omexom, Client, Designers and sub-contractors.
- Attendance at meetings as required.

Person Specification
Qualifications and experience
Essential
· HND/degree (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying or other relevant course
· Familiarity with NEC forms of contract and knowledge and understanding of Construction
Law
· Previous experience of commercial management and procurement of subcontractors,
including chairing regular meetings, measurement and control cycle, certificates and
accruals calculations
· Ability to demonstrate a good knowledge of monthly reporting and earned value analysis
· Knowledge and experience in estimation and cost analysis
· Excellent written and verbal communication, numeric and computer literacy skills, proficient in Microsoft Office
· Excellent organisation and time management skills, with the ability to work to tight deadlines
· Ability to work effectively in a team and delegate, but also able to work on own initiative
Desirable
Previous experience of the construction industry
HV Electrical Contractor or Civil Contractor Experience
CSCS card
