Graphic Designer Wolverhampton To Cover Maternity Leave

West Midlands Media, a dynamic web design agency, seeks an in-house Graphic Designer to fill in for our current Graphic Designer during her Maternity Leave from April to October 2024. The ideal candidate should possess prior agency experience and excel in meeting tight deadlines. A strong portfolio showcasing high-quality designs, including logos, print materials, and website designs, is essential.

The selected candidate will undergo an induction period throughout March, working closely with our Graphic Designer to familiarise themselves with our processes. Please note that this is an in-office position located in Wolverhampton, conveniently situated just 5 minutes from the city centre. Remote work arrangements are not available for this role.

Your Role

•Creating, developing the design concepts of logo designs, print material (brochures, business cards, data sheets) to full websites.
•Involved in brainstorming creative strategies.
•Supporting the development team during the build process to ensure all design assets have been completed and handed over.
•Adopting a thorough understanding of the customers brand identity and overarching strategy, ensuring brand consistency and perception of excellence
•Make sure all design jobs progress effectively and continuously deliver on design deadlines, and are at the forefront of industry standards.
•Continuous research on competitor activity, design software and innovation
•Show passion about graphic design and websites which provides a world class user-experience.
•Able to manage a busy schedule with the drive to see each project through to completion.
•Creating social media graphics for key dates

Essential

•In-depth knowledge of Adobe Creative suite & Figma: Photoshop, Illustrator, XD & Indesign
•Knowledge of Microsoft Word
•An excellent attention to detail
•Comfortable working within a fast-paced environment
•Creativity skills and problem-solving
•To work well as part of a team and individually
•Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and prioritise accordingly.
•Excellent time management skills and planning
•Demonstrable creative flair and idea generation
•Can confidently liaise with clients during the design process, from initial meeting through to design sign offs.

Desirable

•Experience of basic photography using in-house equipment for client photography and events
