Job Description

This role will work closely with Group Finance, together with the wider finance and IT communities around the globe in order to provide all aspects of Financial Systems support, maintenance, integrity, improvement and any related projects.

The successful candidate must have excellent communication skills, a strong hands-on approach, handle multiple tasks, prioritise effectively and approach all tasks with a logical mind. The role is a high-profile position and provides a good introduction to Inchcape which could in turn lead to future project roles within the company.

Main ResponsibilitiesUser Support

• Liaise with the Group Financial Planning and Analysis team to understand and resolve issues.
• Liaise with the Global Finance community to understand and resolve issues.
• Be customer focussed, responsive and resolution focussed.

System Implementation

• Collaborate and contribute to implementing new group systems.
• Improve existing system designs in line with proven practice.

System Maintenance

• Understand user requirements to keep systems in line with best practice.
• Undertake routine system maintenance to ensure that systems are kept up to date.
• Reflect business changes (e.g. acquisitions and disposals) in core Finance Systems.
• Ensure data integrity within and between Finance Systems.
• Communicate system status and data reconciliation issues with key stakeholders.

Governance

• Understand the Inchcape minimum controls framework.
• Help to develop and maintain appropriate change control processes.
• Help drive the use and maintenance of global data standards.

Collaborate

• Work collaboratively and support other functions such as Treasury, Tax and Procurement.

The Ideal Candidate

• In-depth Finance Systems knowledge of SAP-BPC.
• Qualified Accountant (CIMA, ACA, ACCA) preferred but not essential.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, able to create effective relationships with stakeholders at many levels.
• Excellent Excel skills.
• Inquisitive, numerical and analytical mind-set.
• Delivery focused with an ability to work to tight deadlines.
• Flexible thinking and open to working collaboratively outside their remit in order to deliver business benefit.
• This person will be pivotal in contributing to the Finance Systems team. They will invest time developing a deep knowledge and understanding of the business and its commercial drivers, being fully committed to delivering the best business outcomes; practical, pragmatic and 'down to earth' in their approach.
• They will work collaboratively at all times with the Group Finance Systems Manager and the wider team in actively seeking and responding to business input, engaging all key stakeholders.
• They will 'think out of the box' - continually improving the business processes around Finance Systems.
• Flexible and adaptable; the individual will thrive in a changing environment, readily deal with ambiguity, cope with setbacks and always seek solutions (rather than problems).
• The individual will demonstrate a genuine interest in others; adapting their style to 'get the best outcome' from every situation/interaction, being aware, sensitive and respectful to different cultural needs.
