Our client, a private equity backed business growing at an accelerated rate are seeking a qualified Group Head of Financial Reporting to join them on a permanent basis.
As the Group Head of Financial Reporting, you will own all aspects of technical accounting, financial accounting policies and providing expert accounting advice to all stakeholders. The role will be responsible for the management of statutory reporting and all aspects of accounting, including the development and maintenance of all group accounting policies and effective management/application of these across the group. The role will also be responsible for the delivery of the year-end statutory audit owning all Group and UK Financial Reporting obligations in line with UK GAAP.
Duties as the Group Head of Financial Reporting but not limited to:
- Own relationship with Group Auditor and manage the audit timelines ensuring all parties (internal and external) are aware of timelines, milestones and run effectively as a project.
- Identify control weaknesses during the audit process and ensure process improvements are made to embed group wide minimum standards for reporting.
- Develop and control the year-end reporting framework, working closely with Group Financial Controller to utilise ME reporting in preparing the statutory consolidation, in particular implementing audit packs providing guidance to all regional finance teams.
- Own the preparation of all statutory accounts within the Group to an exceptional standard and ensure all filed within agreed timelines.
- Manage the UK company secretarial filings for the Group and implement/maintain processes to ensure compliance with all local filing obligations within the Group.
- Support the Group Financial Controller and FP&A Analyst to ensure all month end reporting is in accordance with Group accounting policies.
- Provide training and guidance to regional teams where required.
- Build and maintain network across wide range of stakeholders, both internal and external.
- Present on technical accounting impacts to senior leaders.
- Support Group Financial Accountant providing mentoring and guidance to ensure a strong development plan.
Experience, skills and qualification required as the Group Head of Financial Reporting:
- ACA, CA or ACCA qualified.
- Managing a global audit, either within Practice or as part of a Group Finance team.
- Delivering Group consolidations across multiple jurisdictions.
- Strong technical accounting knowledge, including but not limited to acquisition accounting, non-controlling interests, lease accounting.
- Experience of acquisitions and integrations.
- Strong experience of preparing financial statements and managing global process for preparing local financial statements.
