Job description
The Group Head of Security is responsible for ensuring that the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust receives a high quality, responsive, value for money, patient and staff focused security services function across all sites operated within the Group. Services are delivered in a consistent manner and approach whether delivered via the in-house team, third party contracted services or short-term agency provision. All service operators will adopt an exemplar approach to security provision and the post holder along with their assistant management team will ensure that this is adopted across the RFL estate. The post-holder will support the RFLPSL Head of Contracts and Performance in the development and delivery of a Group wide security strategy.
The Group Head of Security will have responsibility for over-seeing the performance of the in house and contracted security services deployed across the other hospital sites and satellite facilities. The post-holder will lead and develop the local security management service (LSMS) function within the Group, ensuring that the assistant management team are provided with the resources to deliver and support the LSMS role across the RFL Group.

The post-holder will be responsible for ensuring that the trust executive and in particular, security management director (SMD – currently Group Chief Nurse/Deputy Chief Executive Officer) is kept appraised of all security matters across the RFL Group providing a weekly summary report and escalating as necessary any security matters that require urgent escalation and support.
The post-holder will match service demands with the allocation of resources, requiring complex data analysis of the service performance, planning service changes in accordance with policy development, interpreting national guidance and legislation on the services provided within their remit. In addition, the post holder will be expected to offer expert advice and support to peers in all hospital sites within the Royal Free London Group.
