The role:
In this role you will assist the Group Head of Internal Audit to develop and deliver MAG’s rolling risk-based audit plan and associated reporting. You will provide MAG’s Audit Committee, ExCo and management with assurance as to the design and effective operation of MAG’s control environment with recommendations for process and controls improvement as necessary. Whilst this role with primarily focus on Programme/Project assurance and assurances over MAG’s 3 lines model covering 2nd line assurance, there will be the opportunity to work more widely across all areas of MAG as deemed necessary.
You will proactively attend key forums and build SLT relationships in order to represent the Group Internal Audit Team (e.g. Risk and Audit Boards) and manage all aspects of the audit and assurance process from planning to report completion.
You will specifically work closely with the Risk and Insurance team, to understand MAG’s risk profile to promote a holistic approach to risk & assurance.
About you:
You will be a qualified Accountant, Internal Audit or Risk management professional, or qualified by experience, with a minimum 4 years PQE. You will have extensive technical knowledge and ability in respect of Internal Audit processes with commercial and operational awareness. You will be a people person who can communicate well with the team and the wider business, building strong relationships.
You will have the ability to maintain the right balance between value adding audit activity that assists management with the continuous improvement of processes, procedures and risk mitigation across MAG, with the need to remain independent and escalate key issues and risk considerations to management.
You will balance audit experience with operational and compliance knowledge in order to highlight key control and process weaknesses, highlighting new risk areas that are identified through assurance activity and are required to be included within the Group Internal Audit Plan.
