Role Purpose:
This position will have particular focus on the developing and implementing process improvements relating to the Group’s consolidated balance sheet and inter-group transactions. You will also be responsible for the delivery of timely and accurate financial information to the Group Finance Manager, which the role reports into.
Summary:
Interim / Year end
- Acting as key point of contact for delivery of information to external auditors and internal audit team
- Assisting with preparing information for population in RNS and Annual Report and Accounts
- Preparation of UK subsidiary statutory accounts (for 17 entities)
- Assist with preparation of audit papers for year end and interim audits
- Ownership for accounting for share based payments under IFRS 2
- Adhoc project work supporting technical accounting matters
- Development of the process for allocation of management recharges
Month End Reporting
- Preparation of the Group Consolidation and ongoing maintenance of consolidation journals.
- Development of a Group consolidation checklist to ensure accuracy of reporting and to help improve efficiency of the consolidation process.
- Implementation of above checklist and investigation and clearance of any matters identified.
- Assist in development of a process for more accurate month end process to reconcile inter-group balances including the introduction of inter-Group invoicing.
- Implementation and Governance of the above process.
- Assist the Group Assistant Management Accountant and Group Finance Manager as required with other month end tasks and to help ensure Group monthly reporting pack is sent out in accordance with agreed timetable.
- Adopt the mind-set of continuous improvement to slicken existing processes and get the best out of the Workday ERP system.
- Fully conversant with Microsoft Office products, with a particular requirement for strong Excel skills.
- Development of Workday based group consolidation.
- Continued leverage of the Workday systems to provide efficient and accurate Management Information.
- Provide financial support to senior stakeholders with adhoc analysis to support decision making.
What we are looking for in you:
- Qualified accountant with excellent technical accounting skills.
- Will be comfortable working a large company environment, working to tight deadlines and responding to the needs of the business on a timely basis.
