Group Management Reporting Senior

Position profile

The business is a global professional services firm with a culture of excellence, diversity & inclusion, and innovation. It is now seeking a talented, qualified accountant to join the finance team in Edinburgh with a view to bolstering the Group management accounting function and wider decision-making process.

As Group Management Accounting Senior, you will be at the forefront of the Management Reporting and decision support process for the group. You will lead a team of 2 charged with producing monthly management packs – including analysis and commentary – for the business units and cost centres, as well as being heavily involved in the annual budgeting and periodic forecasting and reforecasting process. Moreover, you will act as a trusted advisor and business partner to commercial and business services stakeholders – explaining your findings in clear and digestible terms.

You will be involved in but not limited to the following duties:

• Oversight and distribution of monthly Group Management packs, ensure timely and accurate delivery
• Preparing and distributing monthly cost reports to relevant stakeholders
• Preparation of KPI reports and commercial analysis for entities within the Group, presenting in a clear and digestible manner
• Leading the annual budgeting process, alongside team members, with key involvement in the periodic reforecasting process
• Business partnering with budget holders across the group, supporting each to deliver the desired financial performance against budget
• Adhere to and develop systems and processes to ensure ‘fit for purpose’ finance infrastructure
• Ad hoc support to the financial accounting team around key reporting periods e.g. month-end and year-end

Person profile

To be considered for this role you must meet the following criteria:

• Be a qualified accountant with 3+ years PQE
• Have strong management accounting skills and experience including budgeting/forecasting
• Have experience of working within finance in a large, complex business
• Have experience of Group management accounting
• Have advanced MS Excel skills and an ability to manage large data sets
• Have a professional manner with an ability to build strong relationships with colleagues and other key stakeholders
