About The Team & Role
This post sits within the Gloucestershire Safeguarding Children Partnership (GSCP) Business Unit. It is a unique and exciting apprenticeship opportunity to work with and learn from a specialist team delivering support and guidance to a range of governance boards and thier subgroups.
The Business Unit is the secretariat and governance support to the safeguarding partnership, reliant on effective and experienced business support and administration ensuring all necessary clerical and administrative processes are carried out effectively.
Through the apprenticeship and working as an integral member of the business unit, the successful candidate will learn effective administration processes. The candidate will be part of a team that ensures deadlines are met and partnership activity is as effective as possible. The role will be required to undertake duties related to the work of the GSCP as may be assigned that are consistent with the nature of the job and its level of responsibility. This will include but is not limited to providing general and complete administrative support including dealing with email enquiries providing appropriate support to meetings, seminars and workshops. Including booking rooms / venues, sending invites, preparing agendas and taking minutes/action points and producing a wide range of documents using relevant IT/Microsoft packages.
This is an exciting opportunity to learn about how partnerships and governance of partnerships operate in the field of child safeguarding. You will be working in a unique position within Gloucestershire interfacing daily with safeguarding professionals from the health trusts, the constabulary and childrens services as well as colleagues from education and the wider childrens workforce of Gloucestershire. The right candidate will become part of this dedicated team of professionals committed to supporting the work of the partnership.
About You
The role will give the right candidate a step up into business administratiom behind statutory procesesses and be in a unique position to apply for permanant position as they become available post apprenticeship. You will have a desire to work in a business admoionistration role and have a good knowledge of Microsoft ICT packages. You will be able to interact with colleagues across multiple agencies supporting Chairs and members of subgroup meetings and have an eye for detail. The role will not require the successful candidate to work directly with children or families, it is office based and operates under flexible agile working arrangements. No experience of safeguarding is necessary.
