Head Of Business Development

The Head of Business Development is a newly created role to support Southdown to achieve its potential and ambition to continue to grow and develop as a leading not-for-profit provider of care, community mental health support and supported housing.

Under the direction of our CEO and working closely with members of our Leadership Group and operational colleagues, the role will provide expert guidance, coordinating the organisational approach to stakeholder management and Business Development activities. This will include developing sector intelligence to identify and progress potential new opportunities, as well as ensuring that we are maximising existing revenue funding streams.

The role will lead on tender and bid writing activities, with the support of other internal resources and operational expertise, using insight and feedback from clients and other stakeholders to ensure that we offer innovative housing, care and community support models that meet the needs of commissioners and differentiate Southdown as sector leader and preferred provider.

In addition, the role will provide management and oversight of Southdown’s Lead Provider activities, coordinating sub-contracting relationships with partners and helping the transformation of community mental health services in Brighton & Hove and East Sussex.

This is an exciting and high-profile role working alongside VCSE and statutory partners to make a significant and lasting impact on the design and delivery of services for local communities.
