Head of Communications - Counter Terrorism Policing HQ
The role will attract a salary in the range of £86,000 to £107,000 depending on the strength of job related skills and knowledge.

As a Head of Communications your primary purpose will be to ensure that Counter Terrorism Policing (CTP) Communications contributes to CTP’s operational and organisational objectives and priorities, and directly supports CTP’s mission to protect the public from terrorism. 

You will be responsible for setting CTP’s overall communications strategy and then leading a network of skilled communicators across the country to make it a reality. You will have direct responsibility for a team of 25 communicators in CTPHQ, covering all major communications functions, and provide overall direction as Head of profession to a network of 45 communications staff.

As a member of CTP’s national governance and management boards you will provide expertise, counsel and guidance to CTP’s senior leadership on all communications matters, and on wider issues of reputation, public confidence and brand. You will also make a wider contribution to CTP’s work through active engagement on people issues, by promoting inclusion, diversity and equality and by setting the highest personal and professional standards personally and across CTP Communications.

You will connect CTP Communications at a senior level with partners across policing, government, and the national security community, as well as other organisations and bodies that can support CTP’s mission. 

You will ensure that CTP Communications is innovative and dynamic and able to respond effectively to evolving threats, a challenging external environment, and an ever-changing communications landscape. This includes taking a leadership role in response to terrorist attacks and other national security crises.
