JOB TITLE: Head of Compliance, CCOR
SALARY: £109,285 - £128,570
LOCATION(S): Halifax, Birmingham, Edinburgh
HOURS: Full time
WORKING PATTERN: Hybrid, 40% (or two days) in an office site
ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY:

We're looking for a dynamic and forward-thinking Head of Function to lead our second line Consumer Compliance Oversight activity. This is an exciting and high-profile role with a focus on building relationships with strategic internal customers, acting as their business partner on all elements of Compliance in the consumer business. You'll monitor a wide range of activities, ensuring compliance with relevant consumer regulations and internal Group policies, collaborating closely with internal risk management functions and local management.
As a Head of Function, you'll be responsible for ensuring business units comply with relevant regulation as they undergo strategic change. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES / RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Leading a team of Compliance professionals to oversee strategic change and business as usual initiatives within the consumer businesses to ensure compliance with all relevant regulation.
  • Overseeing key risk remediation programmes, supporting delivery, and ensuring that the risk and commercial decisions on prioritisation are made in a customer centric manner.
  • Upskilling business units with a working knowledge of relevant regulations on proactive basis to ensure we are compliant by design.
  • Developing relationships with senior stakeholders and influencing across key initiatives to ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Take ownership to formally grow capabilities within the team and work closely with the CCOR functional teams.
  • Personally invest in the growth of own and others' capabilities elsewhere in the organisation through mentoring and coaching.
  • Engage with senior business leaders to understand long-term strategic plans and ensure your resource is aligned accordingly.
  • Collaborate closely with technical specialists elsewhere in CCOR.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

  • Technical compliance advisory experience at Group or divisional level.
  • In-depth compliance risk and regulatory knowledge; ability to conduct horizon scanning and identify emerging risks, interpret regulations, and lead effective monitoring applicable to the consumer business.
  • Proven experience of simplifying regulatory requirements into real world processes and risks which business units can apply in practice.
  • Significant work experience in supporting businesses in a partnership role and in overseeing major change programmes.
  • Has the ability to influence with impact, shaping the opinions and actions of key partners, gaining their trust and commitment to the desired outcome and demonstrates an ability to build strong relationships both internally and externally.

AND ANY EXPERIENCE OF THESE WOULD BE REALLY USEFUL:

  • Deep knowledge of applicable regulations in the consumer space. Ability to apply this knowledge to provide practical advice to business units.

  • Ability to produce high quality written content in the form of board papers and briefings.
