As the Head of Data & Insight, you’ll lead an analytics function tasked with leveraging data and insights to drive commercial decisions and support new business case appraisals. The successful candidate will have an exciting remit, including tactical and strategic initiatives, leading a dynamic team, responsibilities include overseeing customer insights, pricing strategies, revenue management, commercial analysis, and reporting.
You’ll be key in in collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to shape the direction of commercial and data strategies. Additionally, you’ll contribute to wider strategic initiatives, particularly in understanding customer behavior and trends, to support product and market proposition.
Selection of responsibilities:
- Elevate data and insights capabilities across the organization, championing best practices.
- Oversee reporting via Power BI, Excel, and SSRS for all products, services, and data-driven initiatives.
- Utilize strong analytical skills to interpret data and provide valuable insights for strategic decision-making.
- Emphasize the importance of understanding customer behavior and trends in shaping commercial decisions.
- Work closely with the team to develop a deep understanding of customer dynamics, segmentation, and purchasing trends.
- Develop pricing strategies across all products, including dynamic pricing and longer-term planning.
- Identify and propose relevant development opportunities and provide updates to senior management.
- Support the Director of Commercial Insight with wider strategic work, including commercial strategy and longer-term data strategy.
- Work with the customer data manager as a conduit between the business and third-party data architecture supplier.
- Manage, coach, and supervise team of c.5 analytical staff.
- Ensure the team establishes effective and productive working relationships internally and externally.
Skills & experience:
- Demonstrable experience operating at a senior level within commercially focused Data & analytics environment.
- Have experience leading teams of 5+ direct reports.
- Advanced level of Power BI, Excel, SSRS, and SQL.
- Degree in Business, Data Science, or Economics (or equivalent)
- Demonstrate impact in strategic transformation of Data functions.
- Excellent communication skills - ability to communicate and influence at all levels.
- Strong understanding of profit and loss and financial performance.
- Critical thinker with problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organizational and planning skills.
- Good understanding of GDPR.
Salary £60,000 - £70,000 (dependent on experience & suitability) + benefits
Hybrid working: 2 days per wee at attractive Warwickshire Head office.
