Our client, an international leading player in renewables development is seeking a Head of Engineering to join the team. The role will involve overseeing engineering activities in the UK Business Unit for renewable plants and electrical infrastructures. Alongside this ensuring cost minimization, compliance with deadlines, and adherence to specifications and standards. They will be leading a team and managing projects from development support to operational phases. This will be working on a mixed technology portfolio including Wind, Solar and Battery Storage projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Development Support:
- Guide UK Engineering team in supplier selection and RfP processes.
- Ensure compliance with standards in renewable projects.
- Coordinate project budgets and track relevant information.
Support in Project Tenders:
- Assist Purchasing Department in technical bidding.
- Coordinate technical evaluation of received bids.
Project Execution Management:
- Organize and lead simultaneous execution of Engineering projects.
- Provide oversight and report progress to EU North management.
Coordination of Project Transfer:
- Lead project transfer to Construction Team for optimized start times.
- Coordinate resolution of proposed modifications during construction.
Operational Support Coordination:
- Coordinate key studies with Operational Support to minimize construction risks.
Standardization and Innovation:
- Lead application of common standards and initiate innovative engineering processes.
- Ensure technical standards adherence and challenge applicability when necessary.
Team Management:
- Direct and motivate the engineering team, setting goals and responsibilities.
Requirements:
- Qualification: Master of Science (Industrial Engineering); Renewable Energies postgraduate valued.
- Experience: 15+ years in Wind/Solar PV Power Plants and HV infrastructure projects.
- Specific Requirements: Wind Farms, PV Plants, High Voltage Lines, and Electrical Substations projects; knowledge of international technical norms; proficiency in English.
