Tempting Recruitment is delighted to present a compelling opportunity with our respected client - a prominent council. We are currently seeking a dedicated Head of Estates & Asset Management to join their dynamic team.
The Position
The duties you will be performing as part of your role:
- Lead the Estates and Assets Team, driving strategic initiatives within the dynamic Strategic Property division.
- Oversee the comprehensive commercial property management of the Council's extensive and diverse portfolio of approximately 500 properties.
- Take charge of client and tenant communication, engaging in property management, and conducting professional activities such as rent reviews, lease renewals, acquisitions, disposals, valuations, and marketing of vacant properties.
- Act as the organizational lead in managing the Council's Asset Valuation process, collaborating closely with the Capital Accountancy team and Internal and External Auditors.
- Ensure meticulous compliance with statutory regulations and requirements in the preparation of asset valuations.
- Lead the effective implementation of individual projects, navigating complexities and engaging with various internal and external stakeholders.
- Drive significant change within the Service, adapting to evolving requirements in buildings, facilities, and service delivery.
- Take a pioneering role in de-carbonizing the public estate, emphasizing the health, safety, and well-being of staff, customers, and the public.
To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and skills:
- Possess a degree or equivalent qualification in Estates and Asset Management services, valuation, or surveying, preferably in a Local Government setting.
- Minimum of 10 years of hands-on experience in Estates and Asset Management services, with RICS membership status considered essential.
- Substantial background in managing complex developments, site assemblies, disposals, or Lease events.
- Demonstrated track record of effective leadership and management in an Estates and Asset Management environment.
- High level of commercial awareness with a proven ability to navigate diverse challenges.
- Experience in leading and managing professional teams, fostering collaboration and achieving common goals.
- Proven experience in developing, implementing, and managing business plans, strategies, and growth development initiatives.
- Track record of successfully coordinating and managing projects and change management programs, contributing to the transformation of services.
- Experience in handling large and complex budgets, ensuring financial efficiency and effective resource allocation.
- In-depth knowledge and experience in dealing with a range of built environment issues.
Daily Rate: £400 per Day (Umbrella)
Commencement Date: December 2023
Work Hours: Hybrid! Monday - Friday, 9 am to 5 pm
