We are recruiting a Head of Events to join the Rapport team at one of our client sites in the heart of the City of London. The client company is a Fortune Global 500 company, where excellence and creativity are the norm every single day.

This is a great opportunity to join our energetic team and play a key role in leading, inspiring, mentoring and coaching the UK Events team of 12 Rapport ambassadors to provide a first-class, professional service to our clients.

We are offering a full-time, permanent contract (40 hours per week).

Main Responsibilities

  • Managing the daily operations of the UK events team, based in London and regions
  • Supporting event coordinators with the planning and production of all key events
  • Working with the on-site team to prepare and manage events from start to finish, including troubleshooting, equipment problems, and solving technical issues
  • Liaising with all other service providers to develop and deliver events successfully
  • Creating and updating SOPs to ensure the events department is running as smoothly as possible
  • Writing event reports for senior client management, noting attendance, times, and significant issues/feedback
  • Ensuring health and safety documentation and obligations are adhered to and in place
  • Taking ownership of your working hours to cover key events – any overtime being communicated to Account Manager
  • Encouraging and praising the team for provision of outstanding service through reward programs (e.g., WOW Awards, Be a Star, and Excellence Awards)

The ideal candidate will:

  • Share our Rapport values: Create Rapport, Be Brilliant, Innovative Spirit, Walk Tall and Stronger Together
  • Have at least three years of Events experience, and a minimum of two years of Management experience in a luxury hotel, premium airline, retail, or a corporate environment
  • Have the passion and drive to deliver the very highest levels of customer service
  • Have an outgoing personality, understanding the professional etiquette, and be able to easily build rapport with key stakeholders (internal, external and VIPs)
  • Have great interpersonal skills, an outgoing and vibrant personality
  • Demonstrate ability to adapt and flex your working style and behaviour to adapt to the environment of the site you are working at
  • Demonstrate an excellent command of the English language, both in verbal and written communication
  • Be creative, proactive, organised, detail-oriented, process-driven, quick learner and resourceful with a can-do attitude
  • Have the ability to work well under pressure and act both proactively and intuitively
