Head Of Finance - Drinks Industry

Change Accountancy and Finance are partnering with an exciting client in the Drinks Industry to appoint a Financial Controller. Experiencing a period of growth and continued expansion due to client wins, the Financial Controller will form part of the management team and have responsibility for a small team and all finance duties for the business, working closely with owners and investors to an accurate financial picture.

Applicants for the role will be able to demonstrate working either within the Drinks Industry or an SME that has experienced scale and growth. Developing and ensuring a robust financial control framework is key as well as being involved in the complexities of the clients markets and demands which may arise from this. Bringing your knowledge and passion for the post is key and will be looked for at interview, as well as how you would ensure best in class processes to support the business.

Core duties of the role will include;

• A key member of the senior management team with input in to the strategic direction and continued growth by providing commercial insight and analysis
• Production of monthly management accounts with commentary and analysis focusing on key drivers such as departmental profit and cashflow
• Review of product costings and pricing to aid commercial discussion and review
• Aid in decision making around new product launches and financial costings associated with these
• Development of reporting and key business driver metrics for board review and discussion
• Responsible for VAT and duty returns on a monthly basis
• Oversight of balance sheet review and ensuring postings are accurate and in line with business expectations
• Development and coaching of a small finance team
• Managing external stakeholders for payroll management

Applicants for this role will be able to perform the role of Financial Controller and have oversight of the financials whilst balancing a commercial insight and awareness to seek out opportunities and threats as they arise. Sitting as part of a management team, the role holder will get the chance to drive continued growth and have a strong voice in business decisions, something that the owners and shareholders are keen to see in applicants. Experience working in the Drinks Industry would be of benefit and have a knowledge of duty and accounting treatments applicable in this sector.

In return, applicants will be able to show and not be afraid of the challenges that come with working for an SME, being hands on and proactive in a range of business and commercial duties which arise on a daily and monthly basis. Demonstrating a solid financial control and framework of accounting procedures is necessary as well as being qualified; CA / ACCA / CIMA with relevant post qualifying experience of the duties listed.

Salary: £55,000 - £70,000 DOE + benefits
