Job description

MS International Federation – Head of Fundraising and Engagement
Location: London SE1, hybrid working
Salary: £59,177 per annum.
Contract: Permanent, full-time hours.
The MS International Federation (MSIF), a unique global network of MS organisations, people affected by MS, volunteers and staff from around the world, is seeking a Head of Fundraising and Engagement to lead the development of its fundraising strategies, collaborations and activities, as well as supporting the wider global MSIF movement.
MSIF is made up of 48 member organisations working together to improve the quality of life of everybody affected by MS and to end MS forever.  The secretariat in London acts as a central point of communication for the whole movement, facilitating collaboration among members, convening members for learning and networking opportunities. The secretariat also leads on global initiatives to improve access to diagnosis and treatment, and organisational development support to new and emerging as well as existing MS organisations.
Whilst the role of Head of Fundraising and Engagement will be responsible for leading MSIF’s secretariat-led initiatives, identity and relationships, and ensuring that the charity has a balanced and successful income portfolio, the post-holder will also help to develop the expertise and capacity of MSIF’s members. The role has a broad remit with a requirement for fundraising to be distinct, attractive and successful, working in partnership with the organisation’s members, so as not to compete for the same fundraisers and income. It will also involve leading growth on exciting international fundraising campaigns such as The May 50K and Cykelnerven 2024, a cycling event incorporating the toughest Tour de France climbs.
This role will suit a strategic, collaborative leader who is interested in all types of Fundraising and enjoys high-level strategic planning as much as they enjoy operational management or cheering on the charity’s supporters at an event.  It requires an appetite for hands-on work as well as the technical skill and authority to lead strategically important corporate engagement, and bring together leaders from member organisations to facilitate their contributions to collaborative projects.
The ideal candidate will have knowledge of a wide range of Fundraising streams from corporate and other high-value income streams to events and digital, as well as the ability to motivate and influence a diverse membership to work together to grow and diversify income. They will be a successful manager with the ability to write compelling copy and with experience of relationship building, influencing and collaborating with stakeholders from different countries, backgrounds and cultures in a way that inspires and engages. Finally, they will have an interest in multiple sclerosis/health/disability.
CLOSING DATE: Tuesday 23rd January 2024, 9.00am GMT.
