My client is seeking a dedicated and strategic Head of HR to lead their Human Resources department, and to support the organisation through a period of change. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in HR ideally in Education or similar, with a focus on strategy and organisational development

Description

Reporting directly to Leadership, the Head of HR will lead a small HR team and;

• Execute successful change initiatives across the organisation in support of the Executive Team, and undertake departmental / service restructures
• Manage and plan for the operational and strategic demands upon the HR function
• Be accountable for the performance and outcomes of the HR function
• Manage and monitor the HR Budget and charge invoices to the correct budget codes, ensuring best value is achieved in any procurement
• Work collaboratively with the Recruitment Co-ordinator in providing a responsive, timely and professional service
• Have responsibility for legislative compliance in respect of pre-employment safeguarding checks required under the ISI [Independent Schools Inspectorate] Regulations and KCSIE [Keeping Children Safe in Education] Regulations
• Maintain an up to date knowledge of employment law legislation and best practice in order to advise line managers accordingly
• Maintain relationships with trade unions recognised under the TURA and support the Executive Head in joint union body [JUB] meetings and collective bargaining talk

Profile

The successful Head of HR should have:

• Demonstrable experience in change environments, ideally in Education or similar
• Experience in a unionised environment
• Have experience leading an HR function
• Have Level 7 CIPD
