First Story are recruiting a temporary Head of Programmes to lead our distributed Programme team. The post-holder will support delivery of our Young Writers Programme, which places writers in secondary schools with above average free school meals across the East Midlands, London, Manchester and Yorkshire. This role also has a focus on programme development, including evaluation of our work in Alternative Provisions settings, launching our new oracy focused programme in London and delivering plans to expand within our operating regions.

- FTE salary £40,000 to £43,000 (pro-rata, FTC)
- Full time or 4 days option
- FTE 25 days annual leave + public holidays

Job Responsibilities
As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for delivering our programmes to young people to the highest standards. You will be an experienced manager committed to First Story's mission to improve confidence, creativity and writing ability in young people 11-18. Knowledge of the education sector is essential and experience of programme management in the voluntary sector is desirable.
