JOB PURPOSE:
To establish and execute Internal Communications that enable the delivery of core messages across the business engaging all employees fully with Rathbones’ strategy, objectives, and activities.
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Internal Communications:
Support the integration of Rathbones and Investec Wealth & Investment (UK) through group-wide townhalls, and by developing and deploying an appropriate range of Internal and employee engagement techniques.
Act in a consultative capacity to senior members of the organisation to help guide and then execute messaging that enhances employee engagement with our integration and other change projects happening around the business.
Evaluate existing Internal Communications channels (SharePoint intranet, MS Teams webinars, email tools) identify areas for improvement, and implement identified changes.
Work with Rathbones’ IT department to scope out providers for a new intranet solution, create blueprint for submission to the transformation office, and oversee implementation via an intranet manager.
Run a monthly Change Communications Forum, which meets to agree a joined-up comms plan for the business and use outputs in reporting to the Transformation Office and GEC. Work closely with the Chief of Staff to implement this plan.
Act as Communications team representative on the integration’s “Business Readiness” working group and work to align comms plans to the impending changes.
Coordinate with the Integration Communications manager to align BAU messaging with messaging around the integration of Investec Wealth & Investment UK into Rathbones.
Work closely with the People Communications team and the DE&I consultant on a range of employee engagement projects including employee surveys, diversity and inclusion networks, gender pay gap reporting, etc.
Design and implement a briefing pack for line managers, creating an additional channel for engaging with employees face-to-face and cascading messages.
Supporting the Client Office team ‘tell & sell’ the Marketing and Client Proposition to investment managers.
EDUCATIONAL
QUALIFICATIONS:
Graduate calibre.
Communication, marketing, or other relevant professional qualification is necessary.
Must be able to evidence personal commitment to ongoing professional development.
EXPERIENCE:
Minimum ten years’ experience in an Internal Communications role with a financial services or professional practices firm, ideally with knowledge of discretionary fund management or wealth management/private banking.
Must have designed and developed Internal Communications programmes that support change and employee engagement.
Merger/acquisition communications experience would be helpful.
Technologically competent, ideally with experience of SharePoint.
Ability to manage large-scale (e.g. 4000+ employees) live internal events, both in-person and hybrid.
