Job description

Moonshot believes that marginalised people in society — including minority ethnic people, people from working class backgrounds, women, Disabled and LGBTQIA+ people — must be centred in the work we do. We strongly encourage applications from people with these identities or who are members of other communities who are currently underrepresented in our workforce. We know a diverse workforce will enable us to understand drivers behind violent extremism and online harms in an in-depth way and do better work to counter them.

About the role:

Do you have a genuine interest in working for an organisation tackling online harms - from violent extremism and gender-based violence to disinformation and child online exploitation? Do you have experience working in this sector or related sectors and want to develop further?

Moonshot is currently recruiting a Head of International Programmes/ Senior Manager with experience delivering work internationally. In this role, you will manage programmes involving research, capacity building and delivery of digital campaigns related to online harms. The successful candidate will have experience in building and maintaining relationships with foreign government representatives and delivering training to international partners. You will also be expected to work to advance our methodologies and support the strategic understanding of our clients. If you feel you meet most but not all of the requirements below, feel free to reach out and we will be happy to chat.

We are open to filling this role at either Head of Senior Manager level depending on the level of experience of the selected candidate.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Designing and delivering capacity building for international partners/beneficiaries.
  • Overseeing the design, delivery, and optimization of online campaigns, including budget management.
  • Developing and sharing subject matter expertise both internally in the organisation and externally as part of training.
  • Overseeing analysis of diverse forms of data analysis, including OSINT, social media metrics, and data gathered by our in-house specialist software.
  • Developing new methodologies to improve understanding of violent extremism, misinformation, gender based violence, and other public safety issues.
  • Supporting our business development by identifying and applying for funding opportunities, building relationships with clients and partner organisations.
  • Line management responsibilities.

  • Inquisitiveness and adaptability, particularly in relation to new technology and the use of social media for research.
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability and willingness to travel internationally to deliver programme activities.
  • In addition, we require and will check on candidates' eligibility to work in the UK and conduct DBS checks.

Desirable:
