A highly experienced lawyer with knowledge of public law and procurement is required to join a fantastic and reputable organisation as a Head of Legal on a permanent basis. We are ideally looking for a Senior Lawyer with regulatory and management experience in a regulatory/public body. Previous Head of Legal experience would be ideal, but this is not essential, as long as management experience is demonstrated.
Our client is seeking an ambitious and dynamic lawyer to join their friendly and supportive team.
The main duties of this role will include:
- Providing high quality and timely legal advice across all areas of the business, particularly around procurement and public law
- Carry out all statutory functions
- Supporting and developing members of the legal team (overall line management of 4)
- Ensuring the teams output/advice is legally sound and solution focused
- Develop the expert professional legal services team while giving strategic and risk-based advice to senior leaders and other colleagues
- Develop and deliver appropriate legal strategies to ensure the organisation can meet objectives, while working effectively with internal and external stakeholders
- Organise the legal team to maximise efficiency
The successful candidate needs to possess a strong understanding of public and regulatory law - including legal issues with policy and process design, implementation, and public procurement law. The Head of Legal post requires a Lawyer who has excellent communication skills, extensive legal knowledge as well as leadership and management skills.
