SalaryMLC are proud to be partnering with Charitable organisation, to recruit an interim Head of Finance and Operations for a 3-4month, full time contract.
The role will report directly to the Chief Executive and is a key member of the Senior Management Team. The role combines strategic thinking and hands-on management, and the successful candidate will have a proven track record in Charity Finance and Corporate Services leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as a proactive and collaborative member of the SMT, leading across all Finance and Corporate Services functions, including Human Resource, Government, and IT
- Produce accurate, timely monthly management accounts, cashflow reports and various ad-hoc reports required at board level
- Lead and regularly review their financial planning process including budgeting, reforecasting and monitoring of income and expenditure, and cashflow
- Support new funding bids and ensure insightful financial reports are produced for funding partners, specifically around the use of restricted funds
- Strong knowledge of the charity accounting SORP and experience of leading and managing annual audit
- Expert in fund accounting, particularly in relation to restricted funds
Key Criteria:
- Professional qualification in accountancy (CIMA, ACA, ACCA, CIPFA) or substantial relevant finance experience
- Ability to think strategically, develop functional and organisational strategy and create plans to deliver against the charity’s strategy
- Experience in management of restricted funding within a Charity is essential
- Ability to succinctly communicate financial information to trustees and SMT
- Experience of managing external support contracts
