Job description

Job description

Our Head of Operations will play a leading role in advancing our client care standards and operational excellence, taking Ascenti to the next level. You will provide day-to-day operational leadership within the Mental Health department, whilst also collaborating with our clinical leaders to think strategically about future growth of our service.

Being a Head of Operations is about supporting and nurturing your team to be the best they can and deliver against business objectives. You will lead and manage a team of Mental Health clinicians and non-clinicians, to deliver services to our customers and clients.

How your role fits within our team

Our Mental Health business strategy is to grow over the coming months and years. Initially, you will directly lead and manage a team of Mental Health clinicians and non-clinicians, however as the department grows and evolves, so will your role and team structure.

Clinical leadership is the responsibility of our Mental Health Service Lead, whom you will work with extremely closely to design and deliver a healthy and successful balance between operational and clinical objectives.

Formal authority and hierarchy doesn’t appeal to you. You know that the best way to lead a team is to respect their expert opinion, collaborate, and support them when they need your help. You’ll develop meaningful working relationships with your team, regularly reviewing their performance, listening to their feedback, coaching them to improve and celebrating their successes.

You’ll naturally take accountability and be ready to ‘get stuck in’; making sure that you have the right blend of skills across your team, supporting everyone to achieve their ambitions, managing performance consistently and fairly, and you’ll work to achieve agreed budgets or measures. Above all, you’ll celebrate diversity and create an environment where your team feel able to bring their true selves to work.

About you

As a leader at Ascenti, your foremost responsibility is executing our business plan with unwavering performance standards. You'll efficiently manage resources within budget and timelines, all while maintaining impeccable clinical standards. Your commitment to sustainability is crucial for safeguarding our customers, colleagues, and Ascenti from undue risks.

You'll foster a culture of open communication, disseminate corporate messages, provide feedback, and celebrate achievements. Leading change is also vital, overseeing projects aligning with shared objectives. Identifying improvement opportunities and collaborating with our Mental Health Service Lead is essential. You'll drive innovation by introducing new work methodologies, launching services, and seeking additional revenue streams. Collaborating with our Mental Health Service Lead, you'll actively participate in rolling out new services.

You'll set measurable goals with your manager and focus on personal growth through continuous learning and professional development. Effective time management, decision-making, and collaboration with internal specialists are vital.

Creating an inclusive workplace is paramount. You'll manage a team from recruitment to transitions, support their aspirations, and facilitate clinical excellence. Ensuring Mandatory Learning completion and safeguarding their well-being is integral.

Maximising service offerings and being an ambassador for Ascenti is key. Compliance with legal requirements and staying attuned to workforce needs is essential. Supporting your team in managing customer expectations, addressing feedback constructively, and promptly resolving escalated complaints is pivotal. Your commitment to exceptional customer service and high client care standards is integral to this leadership role.

Culture and benefits

You will benefit from a competitive salary, 25 days of annual leave (+ bank holidays) and a great loyalty-based benefits package, which includes Vitality at Work membership, enhanced family (mat & pat) leave, free and discounted healthcare services and many other perks and rewards.

Ascenti is committed to continuous learning and progression, meaning that there will also be ample support and coaching in your role, with opportunities for you to develop if you wish. The goal is for Ascenti to be a workplace that creates a sense of belonging for everyone. This means that they actively work to promote equal opportunities across all that they do, including when recruiting new talent.
