Hybrid working, flexible base in Scotland with regular travel in your region and also working from home.

Permanent, full time (37.5 hpw)

Circa £80,000 - £85,000 per annum, plus car allowance of £5055 per annum and great benefits including Health Cash Plan

Join us at this exciting time of operational growth and change in our new role of Head of Maintenance.  We’re looking for an incredible leader who can supercharge performance across our regional Repairs and Maintenance operations in Scotland (including Dumfries and Galloway, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Dundee and Fife).  You’ll be accountable for all aspects of maintenance delivery across our customers properties with a portfolio of 6041 homes including repairs, voids, statutory compliance checks, FOW, planned/investment works, all estate services as well as other specialist contractor works. 

You’ll deliver our maintenance services through our contractor network ensuring they deliver right first time, commercially driven and compliant services, delivering on our customer promise.  With a collectively commercial focus, you’ll work closely with our Regional Directors of Housing and Communities and other Regional Heads of Maintenance to drive performance and develop our services to deliver for our customers. 

Key priorities as Head of Maintenance

  • Providing strong, clear and expert leadership promoting a culture of performance, transparency and excellence - casting a positive shadow.
  • Providing reliable and consistent outcomes to all customers across the entire Repairs and Maintenance service, with a right first-time fix culture that ensures positive performance in tenant satisfaction measures and reduces customer complaints.
  • Service delivery through our contractor network, enabling the best service at the best price.
  • Leading and motivating supercharged teams to exceed customer expectations and KPI’s through strong operational performance, lean ways of working and effectively controlling costs and risks.
  • Driving operational excellence through continuous improvement, sharing best practice and innovation with your teams and peers.
  • Developing and delivering short/mid-term operating plans aligned to our strategy with a focus on customer and employee experience/satisfaction and continuous service efficiencies.

You bring

  • Significant senior management experience in the delivery of maintenance services through a contractor network within a commercially challenging environment. 
  • Relevant health and safety qualifications (such as NEBOSH).
  • Experience achieving business process optimisation, delivering services at the right cost and at the right first time, reducing waste.  Can forecast demand, plan resources and manage a workforce achieving productivity potential.
  • Excellent people manager, able to inspire, influence and embed a motivating performance culture.
  • Creative spark, a great influencer and a great organiser and driver, solutions focused and bold to achieve great things together.

Job details

  • Full time, 37.5 hpw, flexible working hours (we’re open to agreeing a work pattern with you).  If you need to nip out to walk the dog or do the school run, we’re ok with that too!
  • Hybrid working, flexible base in Scotland with regular travel in your region and also working from home.
  • A full current driving licence as you’ll work and travel in your region and will be provided with a car allowance as part of your remuneration package to do that.
