Purpose of role
Manage the Business Development team, including:

The role is responsible for the overall direction, strategic development, performance, and maintenance of the sales activities of the sales team.
Key Responsibilities
· Lead the team to develop a consultative, proactive approach in both establishing and understanding a client’s needs and providing solutions which lead to new business wins.
· Develop and manage marketing and business development strategies that align with the company’s goals and business plan
· Manage and create my client's online and social media presence
· Develop presentations, producing proposals and carrying out negotiations with prospective clients to secure new business against a set business target.
· Manage the team to develop a pipeline of prospective clients to agreed targets, developing and executing a compelling approach to convert prospects into clients.

· Identify new business opportunities from diverse sources to develop new income streams.
· Represent my client to external stakeholders
· Develop new client relationships to meet and exceed company goals and targets
· Maintain accurate records of leads/prospect, pricing, sales and activities
· Monitor and report on competitor activities and provide relevant reports and information in conjunction with the marketing function
· Maintain and regularly update personal knowledge of funding, products, company and all quality processes required to deliver excellent business opportunities.
· Complete all necessary reporting to keep line management and the wider business informed of the activities and progress towards achieving business wins.
· Advise the Director in all matters related to employer engagement.
· Provide timely Board reports to the SLT.
· Developing, reviewing and maintaining appropriate CRM systems to ensure collated and effective record keeping / reporting that is fit for purpose and are universally accessible.
Essential Criteria Required
· Proven track record in a similar managerial role, with experience of managing revenue of £3.5 million.
· Knowledge of Government Funding, and the Further Education Sector
· Ability to develop the team with skills, knowledge, and behaviors to meet/ exceed companies targets.
· An accomplished Senior Business Development professional with a proven track record of significant new business wins
· Consultative selling background
· Ability to analyse and create data and reports using Pivot tables, Excel and Microsoft Power BI
· Experience of working and managing a CRM and LMS to support the sales process
· A professional appearance and the social skills necessary to deal with a range of clients along with the self-confidence and stature to represent my client at a senior level.
· Ability work under pressure with excellent time management
· Experience of working in a corporate services function that has a strong focus on the customer
