As part of the City Futures leadership team, you’ll bring your expertise and passion to lead ‘Business Sheffield’, the umbrella service responsible for enterprise and acceleration, business growth, innovation, and investment in Sheffield City Council. We’re looking for an outstanding individual to lead our teams who shares our ambition and desire to further develop and drive our plans at pace and communicate a clear vision for the future of the service areas.
You will oversee the leadership and management of Services and contractual relationships to deliver excellent business support services.
It is an exciting time to join the council, with the establishment of the City Futures directorate. The Council is focused on business growth and there is an appetite across partners in the city to work together.
The purpose of the role is to build an impactful and ambitious start up and acceleration ecosystem, in partnership with city stake holders. To secure investment opportunities through SME growth, inward investment, innovation, and enterprise, to secure jobs and GVA for the Sheffield economy.
This challenge calls for a leader and specialist in field, who can inspire, engage, and influence the Council and our partners. You will be instrumental in the design and delivery of funding strategies to build a portfolio of support service and effective delivery programmes.
You will bring sound knowledge and passion for the subject areas, alongside pragmatism, political nous, and an eye for the art of the possible.
Crucially, you can also develop integrated ways of working, secure value for money and connect quickly with people. You listen to what others think and build solutions accordingly. With your grip of strategic, tactical, and emotional intelligence, you’ll be the kind of collaborative and encouraging leader who can inspire and motivate multidisciplinary teams.
Are you ready to join a leadership team that is dedicated to delivering Sheffield’s key ambitions? If you are, we want to hear from you.
