SalaryA Lloyd's insurer with a unique business model that has shown huge success and growth since their inception in 2017 is looking for a Syndicate Head of Finance. This is a pivotal role in supporting the Deputy FD in ensuring regulatory obligations and deploying these changes throughout the organisation. The role will head up all of the Syndicate Finance function which is currently a team of 3 FTEs. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of Lloyd's technical accounting to ensure the right cross departmental decisions are made in compliance with the rules and regulations.
Key responsibilities
- Steward day to day with the Syndicate Finance manager including treasury and expense management.
- Responsible for timetable delivery and stakeholder management
- Steward the GAAP control process via the trial balance and balance sheet control, driving initiatives for improvements where required.
- GAAP plan review quarterly
- Ownership of production of Board papers
- Oversight in identifying and implementing processes to control risks particularly for the Syndicate
- Management of team supporting the Syndicate Finance Manager
- Hands on approach to delivering Lloyd's returns when required.
- Management of production of annual statutory accounts
- Building cross department relationships to get job done.
For this role you'll need to be a qualified accountant with demonstrable experience within the Lloyd's Market. You will need an excellent grasp of technical insurance transactions, accounting principles, strong knowledge of Lloyd's of London regulatory returns and applications is essential. You will ideally have proven leadership skills and be comfortable mentoring and directing a team.
