ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for a highly motivated Head of Systems who has experience working in retail, distribution or e-commerce to help develop and lead the implementation of the IT Systems strategy. This is a hands-on role for someone with a proven background as an IT Systems Manager/Engineer and experience line managing a team.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead the design and implementation of robust and scalable IT systems to support the organisation's goals.
• Recommend, design, build and deliver new IT systems and EPOS environments.

• Mentor and guide team members to foster a culture of continuous learning and skill development and develop a high-performance work environment.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to identify systems requirements and priorities.
• Evaluate existing systems and technologies to identify integration opportunities and challenges.
• Plan and execute the integration of cloud systems with existing on-premises systems and other cloud services.
• Develop and maintain APIs for efficient data exchange between systems.
• Ensure the availability, reliability, and scalability of IT systems.
• Provide technical support to end-users of critical IT Systems.
• Collaborate with other department Heads to understand and address technology needs.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation for systems, processes and configurations.

SKILLS YOU WILL BRING

• Proven experience working in retail, distribution or e-commerce industries.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field would be advantageous.
• Knowledge of database systems and database management (e.g., SQL Server, SSIS).
• Proven experience with automation and integration
• Understanding of cloud platforms (preferably Microsoft Azure) and experience with cloud-based services.
• Ability to work to tight deadlines, prioritise workload, in a time-critical, fast-paced environment.
• Experience of Change Management and digital transformation.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and VBA.
• A Project management certification (e.g., AgilePM, PMP, PRINCE2) would be advantageous.
